What is a Roller Garage door?

It’s made up of lots of slats (or lath) horizontally linked together, they then roll up on an axel, just like a very large roller blind. To keep them safe and in line they have vertical channels (guides) either side, for the same reason at the top there is a box (hood) with a lid (cover) to finish for safety.

Rollers are perfectly suited to enable the maximum space saving, inside and out! Due to the vertical lift there is no need to move the car every time you wish to open saving drive space, this also enables full utilisation of the garage right up to the opening.

Steel shaft & anti-lift a heavy grade hexagonal steel axel is used, this paired with patented locking straps is what gives this door its police rating.

Compact Doors at 55mm the smaller lathed doors are not capable of being exposed to the ultra-high treatments of colour change.

Which door do I need?

Don’t worry, your surveyor will help you select the most suitable door dependant on your requirements. There are essentially two designs available, both of which are manufactured to your one-off bespoke size.

Classic77 Roller garage doors are renowned for their unique space saving design, the Classic77 is our bestselling door. If your requirements are typical of most garage scenarios, the Classic, with its 77mm insulated slats, will probably be the default choice. This Police approved door (SBD – Secured By Design) comes in a wide range of sizes with innovative features, advanced technology, wind locks and brakes (max width 6m).

Compact55 Developed specifically for garages with limited headroom. Its 55mm insulated slats enable a smaller box enclosure than the classic door, the head box & guides can be colour matched foc and are perfect for a ‘between’ fit. (max width 3m)

What fit do I need?

Again, don’t worry, your surveyor will help you select the most suitable door dependant on your requirements. With so much flexibility there are many ways to fit Blueberry Roller Doors.

Face Fix the door is fitted to the inside face of the garage opening. This is the most common location and allows the maximum clear drive through width and the best security.

Between fix also called reveal fix the door is fitted within the garage opening underneath the lintel (just like your windows). This is used when a face fix isn’t possible but does require good headroom within the opening.

External fix when headroom doesn’t permit internal installation, the doors can be fitted to the external facade of the building. This means the box is visible outside and the concave face of the door curtain will face outwards.

Combi fix whether it’s; a mixture of the above, a ceiling fix, a free-standing car port, flat roof or drive through pergola! There is always a solution to fix a Blueberry Automation door.erry..

What about; warranty, lead time?

Blueberry Automation only work with the very highest standard of components and suppliers, manufactured in the UK the products are of the highest quality, lead time and warranty.

Samples are available on request and your surveyor will be able to explain any questions you may have. Show rooms can be made available on request (geography, restrictions dependant).

Warranty is 5 years as standard, no, ‘extra’ warranty is required, the OEM will require that the door is regularly serviced as per Machinery directive.

From order point to completion is typically 2 to 4 weeks, install is 1 to 2 days.
